Happy New Year!

To say the least, bringing in the new year has not been such a great celebration for me this year. This New Year's Eve Marshall and I made plans to go out with a few friends and have my mom watch Cole... Overnight!! So you can only imagine how much I was looking forward to that! Well again, as my luck would have it, I got sick the night before New Year's Eve. Not just nausea, but vomiting as well. I threw up until I had nothing else to throw up! It was awful!

So the next day I headed over to the doctor while Marshall stayed home with Cole. I figured while Marshall had the day off that he mine as well take Cole to the doctor because he had been really cranky the past few days before that and pulling at his ears more than usual. The doctor diagnosed me with a stomach virus and Cole with an ear infection.

So instead of spending an entire night out, we spent an entire night in. One of my presents for Christmas was my blog printed out and made into a book (which I absolutely love and want one every year). I was reading through my blog from last year on new years and I wrote that we slept right through the ball dropping. I guess we were just so exhausted from taking care of our 2 month old. Here is a picture of Cole on New Year's Eve last year:So this year I woke everyone up at 11:58 and all three of us watched the ball drop. Although not very exciting, it was special for me to share it with my boys and daisy of course.

So New Years day just kept getting better. While I am still getting over my stomach bug, Marshall is just starting it. On top of taking care of Marshall, trying to clean and sterilize the house from my night before, and changing a diaper blow out, I also got a surprise from Cole while chasing him around the bedroom trying to hold him down to put his diaper back on. Pee! Yep, he just started going everywhere! Fun!

On a serious note, 2009 was a really exciting, fast year in the Dinkins house. My little boy has changed sooo much! He went from sleeping 20 hours a day to walking and talking. My new year's resolution is to try to eat healthier and try to fit in more exercise. I want to lose a few pounds but more importantly I want to teach Cole how to eat good things and stay healthy.
