Flood in SC

We have had the worst flooding EVER in SC last week.  We received more rainfall in 2 days than the nation has seen in 10 years!

This is what I passed on my way home from work:

This was 277, headed into Columbia.  It was only on the road going towards Columbia so I wasn't affected by it.  But Marshall was so sweet and met me at work to follow me home.  He was worried about me driving home! He's a keeper!

So many people lost their homes, pets, and cars!  Cole's school was cancelled for a week, then on a 2 hour delay for a week, then a 1 hour delay for a week! There were so many road blocks and power outages that they had to close everything down.  9 people lost their lives.

Here are a few pics from across Columbia:

Fortunately, we only lost power a time or two.  Everyone in Columbia had to boil their water for weeks before it was safe.

Our community really came together and helped out all those victims of the flood. We gathered blankets, sheets, and school supplies and donated them various places!

We even offered to help serve food and give out books to kids at Bethel Hanberry.  It's been a crazy few weeks, I'm ready to get back to normal and praying for all those affected from the flood.
